Scoring

Our intention is to make the race series as friendly and approachable as possible to all levels of racing sailors, while at the same time providing a fair system that motivates participation. For example, the scroring rules below reward those who show up to race even if they don't finish a particular race (DNF) more than those who don't show up (DNC).

For both series, each boat's worst scores are dropped as follows, depending on the number of races sailed:

• For 1 - 5 races sailed, no drops
• For 6 - 10 races sailed, the best 5 races are counted
• For 11 or more races sailed, the worst 5 races are dropped

Boats that Did Not Compete (DNC) are scored the number of boats in the series + 1.

Boats that show up to race but don't finish the race (e.g. DSQ, DNF) are scored the number of boats to finish + 1.

Time corrections are made using the PHRF Time-on-time formula:
corrected time = ellapsed time X (750 / (650 + PHRF) )
